Responsibilities
To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment
Demonstrates tactical problem-solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement
Conducts inspections of in-process materials and in-process finished products to meet customer specifications
Prepare, review, and evaluate data and information. Develop recommendations for use by plant management. Conduct routine report outs as defined by plant need
Utilize quality techniques to reduce process variations or refine process parameters based upon results
Assist in problem solving through use of statistical analysis and utilization of quality tools. Lead and promote problem-solving teams to perform root cause analysis and failure investigations. Assist in tracking and trending of corrective and preventative actions to ensure items are closed out on a timely basis
Alert management of potential quality problems to ensure that defective products or raw materials are not used or shipped to the customer
Highlight training needs within the facility and act as a trained trainer for relevant instruction needs
Interface regularly with managers, supervisors, and engineers
Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, work instructions, and form control documents
Demonstrates organizational ability to complete daily assignments as required to meet internal and external customer requirements in a concise, detailed manner
Assist with customer complaint investigations and vendor incident notifications
Maintain food safety and compliance documentation. Responsible for the upkeep of records and documents that correspond to regulatory, customer, and third-party audit requirements
Perform containments; evaluate quality, visit customers and vendors as needed
Use measuring gauges and test equipment to ensure the product is within specification
Performs other related duties as directed by the plant manager or the quality manager
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Possess a high level of attention to detail and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
Ability to apply standard evaluation, selections, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard production techniques, procedures, and criteria
Effective communication skills
Ability to use charts and graphs utilizing math skills and SPC
Ability to effectively instruct and train other employees
Must be able to handle sensitive, related, and proprietary information confidentially
Preferred
Previous quality assurance or manufacturing work experience in the plastics industry is preferred
