Assistant Fire Alarm Inspector

Responsibilities

Assist with conducting routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion systems, as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ products
Support work involving low voltage wiring and associated devices for proper system operation
Help complete Service Acknowledgements and Inspection Documentation accurately using laptops or hard copy formats
Maintain and organize inspection documents, including those required by authorities having jurisdiction (e.g., Joint Commission, Florida Agency for Health Care Administration)
Follow and assist in maintaining a structured inspection schedule
Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents electronically
Ensure timely completion of assigned support tasks
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Inspector or Service Manager

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
1–2 years of experience in low voltage systems or related technical field preferred
Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams and manuals
Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record
Strong desire to learn and build a long-term career in low voltage systems
Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions, seminars, and staying current with industry standards and technologies
Demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and trustworthiness
Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with team members and customers
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting systems and assisting with repairs
Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks and documentation accurately
Results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines and support team goals
Initiative to identify tasks that need attention and act promptly
Effective communication skills and ability to gather and clarify information when needed
This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment
Physical activities can include reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs
Field positions may involve heavy lifting, working in varying climates (including outdoor conditions), construction or low-voltage environments, and exposure to dust, noise, or confined spaces
Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
Some roles may require travel
