Responsibilities
The CSS informs the client and the representing attorney of the available sentencing options and treatment services
Qualification
Required
Interviewing and gathering information from people of all ages and backgrounds
Communicating with diverse clientele (e.g., mental health, addiction, poverty, criminal background, etc.)
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Developing treatment proposals by identifying community resources available (e.g., AODA, mental health and/or counseling programs, etc.)
Preferred
Working with the criminal, juvenile, and/or mental health justice systems
Basic principles of social work
