Marketing & Events Intern
The Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance is seeking two motivated, detail-oriented Events & Marketing Interns to join our team for the Spring 2026 semester. Interns will gain hands-on experience in event production, marketing strategy, content creation, and community-based promotion while working closely with the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities
Write blogs, press releases, newsletters, and website content
Assist with community calendar management
Support campaign planning and execution
Take primary ownership of the First Friday ArtWalk social media accounts (Instagram & Facebook), including planning, creating, and posting content
Assist with content creation and execution for Downtown Flagstaff social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
Capture photo/video content, edit short-form video, write captions, and engage with the community
Support planning and execution of major downtown events
Assist onsite during events (set-up, coordination, breakdown)
Gain exposure to full-cycle event production
Assist with basic graphic design for digital and print assets
Work with Canva and Adobe tools as needed
Qualification
Required
Motivated and detail-oriented
Ability to write blogs, press releases, newsletters, and website content
Experience with community calendar management
Support campaign planning and execution

Minimum 10 hours per week during business hours
Additional hours required during events, including some evenings and weekends
Hybrid structure depending on tasks (office, downtown, and event-based work)
Preferred
Junior or Senior standing (or equivalent experience)
Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Hospitality, or a related field (all majors with relevant experience are encouraged to apply)
Strong written communication skills
Interest in social media, digital marketing, and content creation
Familiarity with Canva; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Comfortable creating or editing short-form video (personal TikTok/Instagram experience counts)
Organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
Passion for Downtown Flagstaff and supporting local businesses
