Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a distributed team of engineers (US-based), fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Build an open, trusting, operationally mature culture
Project Management: Own the delivery of critical projects in a high traffic environment, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards. Be the engineering voice in our quarterly planning process
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other departments to develop new features that improve developer experience
Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and make strategic decisions to improve Bitbucket Cloud systems. Hold a high bar for product quality and service reliability
Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to help team members grow professionally. Participate in hiring planning and other budgeting exercises
Qualification
Required
5+ years of managing software engineering teams, with a strong background in software engineering
Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience)
Experience developing and operating high traffic web applications and services
Proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers, with experience in recruiting and hiring
Demonstrated experience implementing dev-ops best practices
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences
