Responsibilities
Understand the client’s current environment and technical challenges as well as their plans for evolving or creating their future state architecture
Lead the analysis, architecture, design, and development of your client’s next generation Data Platform Solution
Leverage your communication skills to effectively describe the pros and cons of your solution design and drive the combined Slalom and client team to consensus
Break down complex development tasks and ensure timely quality completion of development items, ensuring that they support the Technical Solution you designed
Participate in pre-sales activities including helping define an approach to solving a prospect’s technical challenges and helping the business development team estimate and plan projects to address those challenges
Qualification
Required
Broad experience in architecture design
Deep expertise in one or more data engineering technologies
Curious mindset to client engagements
Thirst for knowledge
Hunger for fearless experimentation in new and interesting ways to meet clients' data challenges
Self-starter
Effective in breaking down large problems into smaller ones
Ability to facilitate working design sessions with Slalom and client technical teams
Experience in understanding client's current environment and technical challenges
Experience in leading the analysis, architecture, design, and development of Data Platform Solutions
Effective communication skills to describe solution design pros and cons
Experience in breaking down complex development tasks
Timely quality completion of development items
Participation in pre-sales activities
Helping define an approach to solving a prospect's technical challenges
Helping the business development team estimate and plan projects
Preferred
Hands-on experience with new data platforms and programming languages
Experience with Big Data Platforms (Apache Spark, Presto, Amazon EMR)
Experience with Cloud Data Warehouses (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, etc.)
Experience with Object Oriented Coding (Java, Python)
Experience with NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
Experience with Container Management Systems (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS)
Experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (Amazon Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio)
Experience with Streaming Data Ingestion and Analytics (Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka)
Experience with Visual Analytics (Tableau, PowerBI)
Experience with Modern Data Workflows (Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster)
