Field Services Engineer
AMT PostPro is the global leader in automated post-processing solutions for additive manufacturing, and they are seeking a Field Services Engineer. This role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting automated post-processing systems at customer sites across the Americas, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer support.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and calibrate post-processing equipment (vapor smoothing, de-powdering, surface finishing, and part-dyeing systems) at customer sites
Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with safety, power, and environmental requirements
Own the process from equipment setup through operator training and handover
Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues
Replace or repair faulty components including valves, pumps, sensors, and motors
Update firmware and software to the latest versions as required
Provide on-site and remote technical support, addressing operational issues and technical queries via FreshDesk and direct communication
Train customers on safe and effective equipment operation, including software use and material handling
Build genuine relationships—you're not just fixing machines, you're a trusted partner
Monitor and analyse equipment performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
Leverage AI tools and diagnostics platforms to accelerate troubleshooting and improve service outcomes
Share field insights that help us build better products
Document service visits including issues encountered, actions taken, and parts used
Provide detailed reports to customers and internal teams on equipment performance and maintenance recommendations
Maintain accurate records of equipment history, warranties, and service schedules
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for equipment operation and maintenance
Advise customers on proper safety protocols and hazard mitigation
Qualification
Required
Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field—or 2+ years equivalent hands-on experience
2+ years of field service experience with industrial equipment, additive manufacturing, CNC, or automation systems
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (PLCs, pneumatics, sensors, control systems)
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and manuals
Familiarity with AI-powered tools, diagnostics software, and connected equipment platforms
Valid driver's license and passport; comfortable with 80%+ travel
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments
Willingness to undergo background checks for international travel
Preferred
Experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF)
Background in vapor smoothing, surface finishing, or chemical processing equipment
Familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing materials
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing environments
