They are seeking a summer policy intern to support state-level work on electric vehicles, grid modernization, and emerging virtual power plant policy, providing direct exposure to legislative processes and stakeholder dynamics.

Responsibilities
Track state legislation and regulatory activity related to EVs and VPPs
Review public utility commission dockets and summarize relevant utility filings or pilot programs
Conduct comparative research on state approaches to V2G readiness, EV aggregation rules, and DER participation pathways
Analyze how selected states enable or limit the use of EVs in VPP programs
Identify common policy levers, data requirements, compensation structures, and regulatory barriers that influence VPP participation
Help draft a structured “readiness framework” that states can use when designing VPP-related legislation or programs
Draft short memos, one-pagers, or talking points for internal and external audiences
Qualification
