Senior Legal Counsel (Attorney 5)
The State of Ohio is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of its residents through the Ohio Department of Medicaid. They are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their Contracts and Acquisitions unit, responsible for drafting and reviewing legal agreements, negotiating contract terms, and providing legal advice on procurement processes.

Responsibilities
Drafting and reviewing contracts, inter-agency agreements, grants, requests for proposals, other legal agreements and procurement documents
Negotiating contract terms with vendors and state and local entities, exercising legal judgment and a disciplined analytical approach
Overseeing contracts and procurement staff members
Working collaboratively with other ODM staff and exercising judgment to elevate appropriate topics to Chief Legal Counsel and others
Drafting and reviewing Controlling Board submissions
Providing legal advice and guidance regarding government procurement and contracting processes, rules and regulations
Serving as a legal liaison to the Ohio Department of Administrative Services
Researching and drafting legal opinions, memoranda and other legal documents
Qualification
Required
Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code
18 months experience as a licensed attorney
6 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques
Completion of 24 credit hours of continuing legal education from accredited programs for applicable two-year reporting period pursuant to Rule X of Rules of Government of Bar of Ohio
Current certificate of registration pursuant to Rule VII of Rules of Government of Bar of Ohio
Candidates must provide a writing sample if selected for an interview
Travel required, as needed
Must provide own transportation
Valid driver's license from state of residence to operate a state vehicle
