Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, integration, and upgrade of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for production and qualification testing
Architect and implement test systems using NI PXI / PCI platforms, DAQ cards, chassis, and third-party hardware
Develop automated test solutions for mixed-signal products, including:
Analog and digital circuits
Embedded microprocessors
FPGAs and supporting power circuitry
Perform system bring-up, calibration, debugging, and troubleshooting of new test systems
Support avionics and aerospace programs, ensuring compliance with MIL and RTCA standards
Develop and maintain test software using NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python
Integrate and validate communication interfaces such as:
RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485
ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX
TCP/IP, Ethernet, UDP
Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations for test equipment issues in production environments
Support environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing
Manage software version control and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for test software
Review schematics and collaborate closely with hardware, FPGA, and manufacturing teams
Ensure compliance with ITAR-controlled data handling requirements
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in test system software and hardware development
Strong hands-on expertise with NI PXI / PCI hardware
DAQs, chassis, and third-party instrument integration
Advanced proficiency in NI LabVIEW
Advanced proficiency in TestStand
Advanced proficiency in Python
Deep understanding of common I/O and avionics protocols: I2C, SPI, JTAG, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, AFDX
Strong experience with test bench equipment: Oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, Spectrum analyzers (RF/optical), JTAG and ICE probes
Proven ability in system bring-up, troubleshooting, calibration, and debugging
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics
Familiarity with code repositories and CI/CD practices
