Finance and Accounting Leader
Marathon TS is a federal-focused organization seeking an experienced Finance and Accounting Leader to drive financial excellence. This executive role oversees all accounting and finance operations, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with business objectives while leading initiatives to optimize processes and deliver actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Direct and manage all finance and accounting functions
Ensure accuracy of financial data and maintain strong internal controls
Provide strategic financial guidance to support business units
Analyze complex data sets, develop models, and deliver high-impact reports
Oversee compliance with federal contracting standards (DCAA, FAR, CAS) and maintain audit readiness
Implement process improvements and best practices across finance and accounting
Lead cross-functional collaboration to enhance organizational effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
10–15 years of escalating finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity
Track record of guiding, coaching, and inspiring high-performing finance and accounting teams while cultivating a culture focused on continuous improvement and professional growth
Deep knowledge of federal contracting standards, including DCAA, FAR, CAS, indirect rate structures, and cost-plus accounting
Systems knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP platforms (Deltek Costpoint) and financial modeling tools (Onestream)
Demonstrated ability to oversee the complete accounting cycle, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll administration, and preparation of financial statements
Demonstrated success in optimizing workflows, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring audit readiness
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, advanced financial modeling)
Preferred
Advanced credentials such as an MBA or CPA are highly desirable
