Director - Business Development & Investor Relations
CapHub is the leading platform supporting Independent Sponsors through capital formation, intellectual capital, and deal execution. They are seeking a Director of Business Development & Investor Relations who will be responsible for originating, developing, and monetizing relationships with Capital Providers and Independent Sponsors, primarily focusing on Family Offices.
Responsibilities
Develop and deepen relationships with Family Offices and other capital providers active in Independent Sponsor transactions
Maintain an active, current rolodex of Family Offices aligned with lower-middle-market Independent Sponsor deals
Position CapHub as a trusted partner in capital advisory and deal execution
Own outbound and inbound Independent Sponsor coverage, including cold outreach, travel-based relationship building, and conference networking
Drive Independent Sponsors to engage CapHub for Capital Advisory and related services
Manage the full business-development lifecycle from introduction through engagement
Leverage experience and relationships from placement agents and capital advisory firms (e.g., Atlantic-Pacific, Triago, Eaton, Lincoln, Raymond James)
Translate placement-agent style sponsor and capital coverage into direct origination for CapHub
Operate with a high-hustle, high-activity sales mindset including consistent cold calling, follow-ups, and extensive travel
Prioritize volume, velocity, and relationship depth over passive coverage
Demonstrate a maniacal commitment to pipeline development and revenue generation
Work closely with the President on BD and IR strategy
Collaborate with Marketing on sponsor-facing materials, events, and activations
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of Capital Advisory services
Qualification
Required
5–10 years of experience in placement agents, capital advisory, sponsor coverage, investment banking, or related capital markets roles
Demonstrated rolodex of Independent Sponsors and Family Offices
Proven ability to originate business through outbound effort and relationship‑driven sales
High travel tolerance and willingness to be on the road extensively
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
Preferred
Background at a placement agent or capital advisory firm
Experience transitioning from junior capital markets roles into client‑facing sales / coverage roles
Understanding of Independent Sponsor deal structures and capital formation
