10+ years expAptimized is seeking a Hands-On Enterprise Java Architect to design, lead, and consult on complex, large-scale distributed systems for a major credit card company. This role involves architecting and implementing enterprise-scale Java/Spring Boot microservices while providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams.

Responsibilities
Architect, design, and implement enterprise‑scale Java/Spring Boot microservices with high availability, scalability, and security
Lead solution design sessions, evaluate architectural options, and provide hands‑on guidance to development teams
Define and implement API‑first architectures, including API Gateway patterns, service mesh, and orchestration layers
Build and optimize asynchronous, event‑driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms
Establish and enforce best practices for authentication, authorization, and security frameworks (JWT, OAuth 2.0, Spring Security)
Drive containerization and deployment strategies using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native tooling
Implement enterprise configuration and governance using Spring Config Server, centralized logging, and distributed tracing
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Conduct architecture reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across distributed systems
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural oversight across multiple teams
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on architecture, roadmap, and delivery expectations
Qualification
Required
10+ years of hands-on experience in Java (1.8+), Spring Boot, and enterprise application development
Proven experience architecting microservices-based, cloud-native systems at enterprise scale
Strong expertise with: Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Config
Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other async messaging platforms
API Gateway technologies and distributed API management
OAuth 2.0, JWT, identity and access management
Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Orchestration layers, service mesh, and distributed systems patterns
Experience with NGINX, Netflix OSS components, or similar edge/service frameworks
Deep understanding of scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, and distributed system design
Strong background in CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Ability to evaluate complex technical scenarios and provide clear architectural direction
Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult, influence, and guide senior stakeholders
Preferred
Experience in credit card platforms or financial services is highly preferred, but not mandatory
