Postdoctoral Fellow in Biostatistics
The University of Michigan School of Public Health is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in Biostatistics. The role focuses on developing and applying statistical, machine learning, and AI-based computational tools to advance biomedical and oncology research.
Responsibilities
You will work with Dr. Baladandayuthapani and his research group in developing statistical and computational methods for large-scale, high-dimensional, complex-structured biomedical data
The research topics include, but not limited to, computational approaches such as AI and machine learning; methodological foundations and computational approaches for AI for biomedicine, Bayesian inference, cancer imaging, digital pathology, spatial biomodeling, systems biology and other high-throughput data sources
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to develop statistical methods and apply them to real-world studies, write manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, disseminate research findings at professional conferences, and collaborate with biomedical researchers
There will be opportunities to mentor PhD students on the research team
Qualification
Required
PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field by the time of the appointment
Strong methodological and computational skills
Demonstrated interest or experience in health-related applications of statistical, data science and AI-based methods
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
