Human Resources Generalist - Recruiting
Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform high level professional work in executing various HR functions. The role involves talent acquisition, managing HRIS data, and supporting employee engagement initiatives, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Administers the full cycle recruiting process for the organization; hosts briefings, conducts sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates for job openings. Collaborates with hiring managers to understand job requirements and provide updates on vacancy status. Create and post vacancy announcements, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications
Partners with hiring managers to ensure position descriptions remain up to date and accurate; conducts necessary research and comparative analysis to develop new position descriptions, as needed
Creates screening questions and Targeted Selection interview guides for vacant positions as needed
Manages the hiring process and ensures a positive candidate experience, including candidate outreach and follow-up through the offer phase
Facilitates the pre-employment process including background checks, references, physical exam scheduling, badging credentials, etc.; ensures selected candidates meet COTA's requirements for employment
Leads the employee onboarding experience; administers the personnel action process for new hires and promotions and enters personnel and salary data into HRIS platform
Partners with Learning & Development to coordinate new hire orientation for employees; and
Assists COTA in achieving its EDI goals in all areas of responsibility in a manner that results in treatment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic under relevant state and federal laws. Qualification
Required
Requires a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field
Three-to-five (3-5) years of experience in Human Resources, talent acquisition, and/or customer service
An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
HR experience in a union environment preferred
Preferred
PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification preferred
