City of Cleveland Heights is seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of City Buildings and city owned properties. The role involves supervising a team, managing maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining records and budgets.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff

Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs

Inspect properties regularly to identify maintenance needs

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes

Maintain records of maintenance activities and expenses

Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies

Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs

Respond promptly to City maintenance requests

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs

Assist in budget preparation and cost control

Train and evaluate maintenance personnel

Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of common areas

Required

Four years of work experience in general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repair, machinery/millwright or HVAC, OR completion of a formal training program in building repair to include general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, maintenance repair, machinery/millwright or HVAC

Must have a valid Ohio Driver's license

High school diploma or equivalent

Technical Training Required

Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergencies

Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting
