STL 1st is seeking a Retirement Benefits Administrator to support the financial well-being of their teammates by ensuring accurate and compliant retirement programs. This role involves the day-to-day administration of company-sponsored retirement plans and serving as a resource for teammates regarding their retirement benefits.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain accurate employee records across all retirement plans, partnering closely with Payroll and third-party vendors
Reconcile and submit retirement contributions, ensuring accuracy and timely funding
Support the execution of Profit Sharing distributions and related reporting
Assist with annual compliance activities, including non-discrimination testing, audits, and Form 5500 preparation
Ensure ongoing compliance with ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations
Act as the primary liaison with recordkeepers, third-party administrators, auditors, and consultants to resolve issues and meet service expectations
Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for teammate inquiries related to eligibility, enrollment, plan features, loans, and distributions
Support the creation and distribution of retirement communications, including SPDs and educational materials
Review, validate, and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper allocation and timely payment

Required

Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
1–3 years of experience administering qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) and pension plans
Strong working knowledge of retirement plan compliance, including ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations
Solid understanding of defined contribution and pension plan operations, including eligibility, vesting, loans, rollovers, and distributions
Comfortable working across multiple systems, including HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) and vendor recordkeeping tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex benefits information into clear, teammate-friendly guidance
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis) and Microsoft Word

Preferred

PHR or CEBS certification a plus
