Plumbing Engineer
PTS Advance is a growing MEP consulting firm seeking a Plumbing Engineer to focus on the design and engineering of plumbing systems for various projects. The role involves hands-on consulting experience, strong code knowledge, and carrying projects from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty systems
Perform plumbing calculations (fixture counts, pipe sizing, water heater sizing, pump selection)
Develop construction documents (plans, risers, details, schedules)
Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines
Review and mark up drawings prepared by drafters/designers
Ensure compliance with IPC, ADA, and local AHJ requirements
Participate in project coordination meetings and respond to RFIs
Support permitting, bidding, and construction administration phases
Conduct limited site visits and field verifications as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
5+ years of plumbing engineering experience in an MEP consulting firm
Strong understanding of commercial and multifamily plumbing systems
Proficiency with Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Florida Plumbing Code and local jurisdiction requirements
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred
PE license
Experience with healthcare, hospitality, or high-rise projects
Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection
Exposure to sustainable or LEED-related plumbing design
Experience mentoring junior engineers or designers
