Business Manager - UBA / Facilities
Florida State University is one of the nation's elite research universities, and they are seeking a Business Manager for their University Business Administrators - Facilities department. The role involves managing fiscal, purchasing, and financial functions in support of Planning, Design & Construction’s business operations, including budgetary control and oversight of construction/renovation projects.

Responsibilities
Responsible for management of fiscal, purchasing, and financial functions in support of Planning, Design & Construction’s business operations
Responsible for budgetary control and maintains oversight of the business cycle for construction/renovation projects. This includes providing strategic guidance to the Project Managers. Ensures budgetary control by reviewing expenditures for all Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO), Carryforward, and departmental funding for both Major and Minor projects. Prepares and administers project budgets and reports
Responsible for monthly reconciliation of Major projects and Planning, Design & Construction department. Manages incoming projects with respect to budget allocation and assignment to a Project Manager. Acts as PD&C’s P-Card proxy. Acts as liaison with Procurement Services with respect to new and/or changing procurement practices and ensures compliance with University policies and procedures. Manages project close-out and return of funds to departments. Supervises Construction Accounting Specialists
Compiles budgetary data for use in reports and presentations. Provides budget forecasts. Makes recommendations regarding expenditures and prepares related reports and correspondence as requested by the Program Manager or higher level administration
Supports Planning, Design & Construction's operational objectives by providing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews. Resolves problems and recommends system improvements in support of maintaining high quality of service and customer service standards. Provides back up support to the Program Director, Budget & Financial Services
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively and responsibly
They will also be highly proficient in Excel, with the ability to track, analyze, and report data accurately to support decision-making
