Civil Engineering Director - Structures

They are seeking a passionate Civil Engineering Director - Structures to lead projects in bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design, while ensuring client satisfaction and strategic growth within the company.

Responsibilities
Develop, implementing, and tracking a business plan for service line
Coordinate long-term strategic pursuits
Communicate directly with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention
Determine staffing needs, recruiting and retaining staff in service line
Work with executive team to coordinate service line plan with overall company goals
Work with internal staff to ensure projects meet established deadlines, specifications, budgets, and client expectations
Succession planning for all service line staff/positions
Manage, mentoring, and assisting staff with individual development
Responsible for developing and managing overall service line budget, including:
Oversight/tracking of all project budgets/profitability
Company/service line overhead (including coordination across service lines)
Review/approval of contracts and proposals
Identify capital purchases and software needs
Coordination and approval of staff training
Marketing/Business Development
Tracking and forecasting service line backlog
Oversight/tracking of all service line project schedules
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with 10+ years of experience in structural engineering
A Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE
Experience managing structural engineering design projects
Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and permitting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Solid organizational and time management skills
To be self-disciplined/motivated who also works well in a team environment
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to worksites, meetings with clients, and attend conferences
To be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located
To occasionally travel out-of-town and overnight for professional development and/or project-related work
