Tax Manager - Family Office
Robert Half is a sophisticated family office with a substantial real estate portfolio, seeking a Tax Manager to oversee complex partnership tax matters. The role involves managing personal and business tax returns with a focus on real estate partnerships and providing strategic tax planning and compliance.
Responsibilities
Own tax compliance and planning across a large real estate portfolio, including partnerships, LLCs, joint ventures, and operating entities
Prepare, review, and oversee partnership tax returns (Forms 1065, K-1s) and related filings
Manage complex allocations, capital accounts, waterfalls, and basis calculations
Coordinate closely with external tax advisors while retaining in-house ownership and judgment
Support tax planning around acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, and restructurings
Oversee individual, trust, and estate tax matters for family principals
Identify opportunities for tax optimization across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws affecting real estate and pass-through entities
Maintain clear documentation and support for audits or inquiries
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field (CPA or MST strongly preferred)
7–12+ years of tax experience with a strong focus on partnership taxation
Background in public accounting, private equity real estate, or family office environments
Strong technical judgment paired with a practical, business-oriented mindset
Comfortable working independently and directly with senior stakeholders
High integrity, discretion, and long-term orientation
