Ascension Search Partners is a fast-growing, upper-middle-market, private-equity-backed distribution company seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join their finance team during a strategic transformation. This role will lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting while partnering closely with senior leadership to drive performance and support growth.

Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy execution, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, providing variance analysis and commentary
Develop and maintain financial models to forecast performance and inform strategic decisions
Support CFO in the preparation of annual financial plans and reports
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and recommend actions to achieve financial objectives
Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, HR) to align financial goals with business strategies
Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and systems
Communicate financial performance transparently to senior management and stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
5+ years of corporate finance leadership experience in multi-site private equity backed environments
Strong financial modeling, analytical, and reporting skills
Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and financial software
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Advanced understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow
Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis
Ability to influence business decisions through data-driven insights
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial software applications

Preferred

Experience in mergers & acquisitions and financial restructuring a plus
