Information Governance Supervisor

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage Information Governance/Information Management staff, including performance management, training, workflow development, and day-to-day operations
Oversee all client file transfers (incoming and outgoing), including intake, review, transfer, disposition, and destruction, ensuring compliance with firm policy, client guidelines, ethical walls, and legal holds
Coordinate with IT, Records, General Counsel, other firms, and lateral partners to ensure secure, timely, and accurate data transfers in compatible formats
Utilize and oversee use of tools such as Outlook, Relativity, Excel, and document management systems to review, track, report on, and complete file transfer and governance activities
Lead and participate in firmwide information governance projects (e.g., office moves, cleanups, retention, quality control) and drive continuous process improvement
Serve as a department representative and advisor, promoting best practices, training attorneys and staff, ensuring compliance with firm policies, and delivering high-quality service

Required

Strong knowledge of database and review platforms (e.g., Relativity), Boolean searching, and common file types (PST, MSG, TXT, ZIP)
Proficient in Windows file management and firm software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to quickly learn new systems
Proven leadership and supervisory skills, including delegation, performance management, and policy administration
Excellent communication, customer service, and attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Highly organized and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while working independently or as part of a team
Discreet and professional, able to handle sensitive matters, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality, with flexibility to travel and adjust work hours as needed
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of five years of related experience and 3 years of supervisory experience
