Responsibilities
Put your engineering talent to the ultimate test
Participate as an active team member knowledgeable of the networking environment including routers, switches, circuits, firewalls, wireless, intrusion prevention devices, etc
Experience technologies that aren’t just top-notch, they’re often top-secret
Be a subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields
Demonstrate proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards
Communicate effectively with the customer and our vendors
Be a self-starter, hands-on leader for prototype efforts
Understand Server Management, OS configuration, remote connections
Have knowledge of Switches; physical connectivity, and logical configurations
Configure routers including IP Tables and subnets
Use Network Testers and STE: Viavi T-BERD for configuration and operation
Utilize fiber optic transceivers for use and configuration
Manage Timing Distribution: 10Mhz, 1PPS, NTP/PTP
Understand Network Protocol (UDP, TCP, Layer 2, Vita 49)
Work with Internet and Optical Physical Layers
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience)
Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience
Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
