Building Systems Internship
Steven Winter Associates is a proud employee-owned firm focused on transforming the built environment. This internship is part of the Building Operations, Decarbonization & Efficiency (BODE) team, where interns will assist with onsite inspections of HVAC equipment, contribute to energy audits, and document technical findings.

Responsibilities
Perform tasks related to utility benchmarking, energy auditing, and retro-commissioning for existing buildings
With Senior Engineers, identify energy- and carbon-saving strategies and develop savings calculations
Inspect and test installations of building equipment, including terminal unit function and commissioning
Prepare technical and non-technical reports for program compliance and review
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including building owners, project managers, developers, architects, engineers, energy modelers, sustainability & accessibility consultants, contractors, and consultants
Qualification
Required
Pursuing or completed bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science discipline
0-2 years of related work experience
Familiarity with Energy Code and/or ASHRAE standards
Work Authorization Notice: We're only able to hire a candidate with current, valid U.S. work authorization. This role does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future
Qualified candidates MUST be available for a full-time work week (40 hours) from May 18th, 2026, through August 7th, 2026
Preferred
Prior experience with building HVAC systems. Examples of prior experience may include a past internship (preferred, but not required), school coursework, or a college/university project
