They are seeking an HVAC Design Engineer / Project Manager who will manage HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection engineering projects, focusing on overseeing designs and ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Responsibilities

Plans, coordinates, and oversees mechanical-related design activities throughout all phases of pre-construction
Manage engineering designs to ensure their design and quality are code-compliant and follow the client requirements, budget, and schedule
Communicates with clients on a regular basis
Applies applicable codes and standards to all MEP systems for all projects
Conducts site surveys for existing conditions and construction progress

Required

5+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Systems
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Strong understanding of the NEC, local, state, and international building codes
AutoCAD a MUST. (to check drawings, drafting is performed outside the US)
Experience with HVAC systems in large multi-family and commercial buildings
Must be able to perform local field visits in the NYC area
MUST have experience with the NYC Department of Buildings
Strong problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, etc

Preferred

Commissioning experience desired
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification would be a PLUS
