Responsibilities
The position participates in simulation project planning with design and other simulation engineers, ensures simulations are executed accurately, analyzes results, and creates summary reports with recommendations
Much of the day is spent using 3D engine combustion and thermal software (CONVERGE or STAR-CCM+), building physics-based models, performing simulations, and analyzing results
Knowledge and experience with commercial 3D fluid dynamic and thermal software such as Siemens STAR-CCM+ or Convergent Science CONVERGE
Knowledge of engine system (such as piston, head, liner, valves, and intake and exhaust manifolds) and aftertreatment components (such as SCR systems, back pressure, and injectors) would be an asset
Experience with 1D simulation software such as GT-SUITE or Amesim and solid modeling software such as PTC Creo or BETA CAE Systems ANSA would be a bonus
Qualification
Required
PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge and experience with commercial 3D fluid dynamic and thermal software such as Siemens STAR-CCM+ or Convergent Science CONVERGE
Knowledge of engine system (such as piston, head, liner, valves, and intake and exhaust manifolds) and aftertreatment components (such as SCR systems, back pressure, and injectors)
Experience with 1D simulation software such as GT-SUITE or Amesim
Experience with solid modeling software such as PTC Creo or BETA CAE Systems ANSA
The candidate must have performed fluid dynamics and thermal simulations as a part of their graduate studies or as part of a prior job in industry
