Material Industrialization Engineer
Michelin is a world-class manufacturer of tires located in Lexington, SC, and is seeking a highly motivated Material Industrialization Engineer to join their team. The role involves introducing new semi-finished materials to the market and collaborating with R&D to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities
Work closely with our Central Research & Development teams in Greenville to bring new semi-finished materials, such as rubber mixes and calendered tissues, to market for our world class passenger and light truck tires
Participate in material properties and tire performance risk analysis to determine the best strategies for successful industrialization
Conduct local risk analysis and develop action plans to address any identified issues
Plan and coordinate trials qualifying new semi-finished materials for the plant
Define and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with Michelin Quality Standards, sustainability goals, and manufacturing efficiency needs
Lead and coordinate trials with production operators, quality technicians, and laboratory personnel
Run test materials on industrial production equipment and address any issues that arise during trials
Collect and analyze results, providing feedback to improve parameter set ups for future trials
Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing partners to solve problems and overcome challenges during the industrialization process
Spend significant time in the manufacturing area to optimize processes and resolve production issues
Work with experts in the domain to perform quality tests and demonstrate the industrial robustness of new material
Qualification
Required
Proven track record of efficient work in an industrial production environment
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to comprehend process and product relationships
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Process, or Chemical preferred), Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the ability to quickly adapt to and effectively use internal software systems
Ability to collaborate and communicate productively with cross-functional teams and various levels of the organization
Preferred
Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including co-ops and internships, is preferred
Experience in meaningful data analysis (extracting / visualizing data from various file formats, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of that data being processed or displayed)
