Rogers-O'Brien Construction is seeking an MEP Superintendent to provide direction for all aspects of MEP coordination for assigned projects. The role involves overseeing MEP systems, managing project costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while leading the project staff.

Responsibilities

Support both pre-construction and the project team in reviewing trade partners proposals, schedules, and logistics

Manage the installation of the following systems: electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination (validated and non-validated systems)

Participate in review of MEP related shop drawings and submittals

Assist in the development of full commissioning plans for all MEP systems that identify and define the following: all test requirements, required inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation requirements, and integrated test plans demonstrating full system operations

Responsible for onsite construction support for MEP systems and will oversee the start-up, balancing, commissioning and validation certification of these systems, including owner training and project closeout

Develop and oversee project specific MEP quality and safety programs, including participating in safety cause mapping for post MEP safety events

Create construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and insert new activities and impacts

Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain relationships with neighboring occupants

Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction to achieve project occupancy milestones

Lead RO’s safety starts with me program

Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource-loading in conjunction with RO’s self-perform work crews

Foster the development of foreman to grow into future superintendents

Professionally represent RO field operations as primary interface with owner and design team

Responsible for training and development of MEP Coordinators

Supervises MEP Coordinators at the project level

Coordinates with MEP Superintendents

Required

Experience in MEP coordination for construction projects

Ability to provide construction support for MEP systems

Experience overseeing balancing, commissioning, and validation certification of MEP systems

Ability to manage project costs to ensure completion within budget expectations

Experience in developing project schedules and critical path steps

Knowledge of MEP project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation

Ability to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Experience managing owner-architect interface and planning for HVAC, electrical, controls, plumbing, process piping, and fire protection design/construction coordination

Leadership and development skills for project staff

Ability to meet or exceed customer expectations

Preferred

Experience in reviewing trade partners proposals, schedules, and logistics

Experience managing the installation of electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection systems

Experience in reviewing MEP related shop drawings and submittals
