Responsibilities

You manage the supplier qualification of coating, drilling, and assembly processes for gas turbine components
You take on the technical support of suppliers and are jointly responsible for qualifications, quality, deadlines, and costs
You are responsible for the development and industrialization of new production processes at the suppliers
You are the point of contact for technical questions or quality issues from the supplier as well as for internal partners
You serve as the technical interface between design/engineering and manufacturing
You analyze data, identify improvement potentials, and initiate improvements with our suppliers
With increasing experience, you become involved in larger projects
You are able to communicate with our partners and suppliers in German or English, both verbally and in writing
Contribution to decarbonization by increasing the efficiency of our gas turbine components
As part of a global team you are managing product and process qualifications (PPQ) and production of hot gas components at your assigned suppliers, providing manufacturability feedback to design, evaluating manufacturing and delivery risks
Leading NPI projects, tracking milestones and budget, coordination, and mitigating delays
Improving supplier processes based on statistical data and reducing nonconformance costs
Leading cost and delivery time reduction projects at coating suppliers
Contributing to technology roadmap and feasibility studies for new designs and coating systems

Required

Successfully completed university degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, materials science, manufacturing, or a comparable field (extensive experience may be considered without a university degree)
At least 5 years technical experience in the area of machining processes (grinding, milling, EDM – sinking and FHEDM, STEM drilling)
Experience in project management
Experience in cross-functional teams and turbine hot gas parts
Intercultural competence and willingness to travel international (~25 %)
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
