FEV North America, Inc. is seeking students interested in hybrid and battery electric vehicle powertrain systems. As an electrification engineering assistant, you will support engineers in benchmarking, developing, and verifying hybrid and electric powertrains through testing and data analysis.

Responsibilities

Support installation and commissioning of instrumentation in electric and/or hybrid vehicle powertrains and test benches
Assist and interact with engineering and operations staff to execute vehicle and component testing tasks
Data handling, processing, analysis, and report material generation
Support project hardware inventory and logistics
Ability to support off shift testing and analysis, if required

Required

Candidates pursuing a master's or bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering
Strong engineering fundamentals: fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, electronics
Interest and understanding of electric and hybrid powertrain systems
Skilled in handling MS-Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Basic understanding in MS Excel macro, MATLAB, or other similar scripting
Professional communication skills, both oral and written English
Must be a motivated team player to perform in fast paced consulting environment

Preferred

Experience with vehicle instrumentation and testing
Basic exposure to test equipment installation and/or calibration
Hands-on experience with vehicle powertrain systems
Knowledge of US legislation (Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and/or California Code of Regulations (CCR) regulating hybrid and electric vehicles
