STV has an opening for a Rail Vehicle Quality Inspector to work out of a client manufacturing site in Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients’ requirements throughout the United States and internationally on major Rail vehicle programs.

Responsibilities

Review Rail Car Systems and quality programs audits of parts suppliers
Support clients’ requirements throughout the United States and Internationally on major Rail vehicle programs
Conduct daily inspections at contractor’s production facility
Conduct supplier audits and preparing associated reports for program management and client
Prepare weekly status reports for program management and client

Required

Minimum of 8 years of experience in the manufacturing and overhaul of Rail vehicles
Experienced and knowledgeable in Rail Vehicle assembly methods and processes
Experienced and knowledgeable in jigs, fixtures and production line equipment calibration and control processes
Experienced and knowledgeable in welding processes and AWS standards
Experienced and knowledgeable in Rail Vehicle testing and witnessing/supporting of such programs
Experienced and knowledgeable in electrical systems testing including megger, High Potential (Hi Pot) and continuity testing
Experienced and knowledgeable in corrosion evaluation and associated mitigation plans
Experienced and knowledgeable in climate chamber testing and witnessing/supporting of such programs
Experienced and knowledgeable in Rail Vehicle subsystems including prime mover, HEP, HVAC, trucks, communications, electrical systems, etc
Experienced and knowledgeable in Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs as they relate to the Rail Vehicle industry
Support of First Article Inspection (FAI) and source inspection requirements
Conducting daily inspections at contractor's production facility
Conducting supplier audits and preparing associated reports for program management and client
Preparing weekly status reports for program management and client
Familiar with safety requirements and practices of the Rail Vehicle industry
FRA and AAR requirements applicable to Rail Vehicle maintenance and overhaul activities
Technical School or Community College Education or equivalent job experience
A minimum of 8 years of inspection experience
Experience with Rail Vehicle Systems, and quality control programs and activities
