Responsibilities
Lead and participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of mainframe system engineering activities
Work with existing mainframe managed service provider to improve and optimize services to internal and external customers and improve resiliency and availability of the z/OS mainframe platform
Analyze and recommend improvements to the scalability and resiliency of applications and systems running on Z platform
Provide hands on technical support for incident assessment and resolution for restoration of service
Support problem Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Qualification
Required
Infrastructure engineer with a minimum of 8-10 years experience supporting IBM zOS Systems in a SYSPLEX environment with the following skills:
5-10 years experience in: RACF -Security Administration
ZOS – Systems Programmer
CICS TS –Systems Programming
MQ – Systems Programming
DB2 – 5-10 years usage ( doesn't have to be at Systems Programming level)
ISV Production installation experience
General Systems Automation support (IBM System Automation)
General Batch Scheduling support – Control-M
Solid leadership and hands on technical experience
Good project management and ability to provide technical guidance to diverse teams
Internal drive, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn, and desire to help the customers succeed
Strong technical skills as well as good business acumen
Comfortable working with all levels of the organization
Preferred
SYSPLEX and ICF configuration and tuning. Experience in de-coupling Sysplex environment
Experience with Middleware interfaces such as AIX, WebSphere, Networks, LDA
Working knowledge of network communication protocols (TCPIP)
Excellent knowledge of hardware infrastructure of IBM z16 and Dell/EMC storage subsystems
Pervasive encryption on z/OS
Ransomware solutioning for mainframe
Java/J2EE
DB2/UDB
