Human Resources Generalist
Sterling Engineering is seeking an HR Generalist to support business leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle. This role partners with management to implement HR programs, advise on people strategies, and support growth, engagement, and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Partner with managers on HR strategies including workforce planning, recruiting, and talent development
Advise leadership on employee engagement, data trends, policies, and people-related decisions
Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and foster an inclusive, safe workplace
Manage employee lifecycle activities: onboarding, orientation, performance reviews, merit cycles, and separations
Serve as a consultant on HR policies, labor laws, and employee relations issues
Investigate policy violations and support appropriate resolutions
Develop and support local recruiting programs, job fairs, and school/community partnerships
Partner with Total Rewards on compensation and benefits administration
Maintain HR records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Support site and corporate HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Participate in sustainability and employee engagement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience level aligned to role grade (from early career to senior HR Generalist)
Working knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements
Strong communication and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a changing environment
High level of discretion and commitment to data privacy
Preferred
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) preferred
