Responsibilities

Complies with all Pivot Quality System procedures and work instructions
Supports ISO initiatives required for the Supply Chain Department
Develops and maintains positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
Negotiates the best possible pricing, terms, and commercial conditions
Arranges discounts, favorable terms, and leads problem-resolution efforts
Drive adherence to primary supplier selection, dual sourcing, and approved material substitution strategies throughout product design and lifecycle management
Builds and maintains sourcing channels and market networks for required products
Proactively manages shortages by establishing alternative suppliers or materials and monitoring market and industry trends for Pivot-KC
Maintains positive relationships with subcontractors
Ensures product specifications, testing requirements, and inventory control procedures are defined and implemented
Participates in vendor and subcontractor evaluations
Ensures subcontractors manufacture products according to required specifications
Proactively manages shortages by developing alternative supplier options and monitoring market and business trends across all sites
Reviews and generates reports required for inventory and materials management
Coordinates return-material and finished-goods logistics with third-party logistics providers
Tracks stock status and material availability to support client orders and forecasts for all sites
Manages excess materials and develops programs to reduce or consume excess inventory
Identifies, manages, and implements product and material initiatives that drive cost reduction and operational efficiency
Challenge and guide engineering decisions to balance performance, cost, availability, quality, and long-term supply resilience
Act as the primary liaison between engineering and supply chain, ensuring component and material selections support approved supplier strategies, cost objectives, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply
Works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Finance on issues that impact Supply Chain operations
Lead and influence engineering teams early in the design and development process to ensure alignment with supply chain strategies and constraints
Participates in design reviews and gate reviews
Identifies and eliminates root causes of manufacturing or quality errors
Performs standard cost evaluations and updates PPV for Pivot-KC
Monitors cost evaluations and updates for Pivot-KC and other Pivot locations
Provides guidance and mentoring to personnel performing supply chain functions (order entry, returns, scheduling, planning, shipping)
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations for the supply chain team
Maintains awareness of project milestones and responds proactively to resolve issues affecting project financial performance
Holds approval authority for ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and temporary deviations
Manages time effectively and sets priorities that support organizational and departmental objectives
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in supply chain management, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline
At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience, leading cross-functional teams or programs
Demonstrated experience working closely with engineering, procurement, and operations in complex supply chain environments
Strong understanding of supplier selection, dual-sourcing strategies, and material substitution methodologies
Bachelor's degree with five years of work-related supply chain experience, or equivalent work experience; preference for experience in engineering and/or manufacturing environments
Advanced skills in problem solving, analytical thinking, data analysis, critical thinking, decision-making, and negotiation
Advanced working knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with production/inventory control and ERP/MRP software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure with limited or no supervision
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers
Must be able to obtain a passport, as both domestic and international travel may be required
