They are seeking a seasoned Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead enterprise-wide risk management and regulatory strategy. The CRO will design and oversee a comprehensive risk management framework and work closely with executive leadership and various teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities
Establish and lead the company’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework tailored to crypto and digital asset markets
Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks across trading, custody, lending, staking, DeFi exposure, and operational activities
Oversee market, credit, liquidity, counterparty, and operational risk management processes
Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure adherence to U.S. and global regulatory requirements (SEC, CFTC, FINRA, AML/KYC, sanctions, etc.)
Develop and maintain risk policies, limits, stress testing models, and risk appetite statements
Provide regular risk reporting to the CEO, executive committee, and Board of Directors
Lead incident response and crisis management related to market volatility, security breaches, or regulatory events
Evaluate third-party and vendor risks, including technology providers and liquidity partners
Stay current on regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging risks in crypto, DeFi, and Web3 ecosystems
Build and lead a high-performing risk management team as the organization scales
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, or a related field
12+ years of experience in risk management within financial services, trading firms, fintech, or crypto-native companies
Proven experience in senior risk leadership roles (CRO, Head of Risk, VP of Risk, or equivalent)
Deep understanding of digital assets, crypto markets, derivatives, and blockchain-based financial products
Strong knowledge of U.S. financial regulations and global regulatory frameworks impacting crypto businesses
Experience working with regulators, auditors, and board-level stakeholders
Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Prior experience in high-growth or startup environments is a strong plus
