Managing Director

Ultimus LeverPoint Private Fund Solutions is seeking a Managing Director for Fund Accounting to oversee multiple fund accounting teams. This role requires strong leadership and technical guidance, along with the responsibility for client relationship management and financial oversight.

Responsibilities

Proven ability to develop strong relationships on a global level (i.e. Executive, HR, Recruitment and Finance)
Strong leadership skills over fund team operations, ensuring the work quality and overall client satisfaction is high
Oversight in company-wide technical training initiatives and a demonstrated ability fund accounting concepts at a high-level required
Partner with Business Development on additional work for existing contracts or on new pricing contracts and proactively provide suggestions on client pricing when applicable
Advise on high-level fund accounting concepts (i.e., complex waterfall structures)
Ability to multi-task between different tasks and internal demands throughout the day
Responsible for identifying and implementing “Best Practices” across the operations team
Act as subject matter experts on prospective client calls, partnering with our Business Development Team
Drive implementation of new policies, procedures, technology and overall initiatives
Builds and maintains strong relationships with Private Fund clients, ensuring prominent levels of satisfaction and retention
Develops and implements strategies to enhance client engagement and organic growth
Executive coverage of the largest, most important, and/or most complex clients, prospects, territories, accounts, or internal relationships
Perform regular client check-ins to ensure high client satisfaction and upsell clients
Manages associates within department including, but not limited to, hiring, training, and developing associates, delegating work assignments, writing, and conducting performance appraisals, salary recommendations, coaching and counseling, and administering corrective actions
Conducts one-on-one and team meetings with associates on a regular basis to discuss new procedures, problems, and issues
Establishes team and individual goals for department
Fosters performance of associates and the processes used by them; holds the associates accountable for their work
Provide supervision, guidance and coaching to SVPs, VPs and the broader teams as needed
Monitors financial performance and implements strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintain personal networks; participate in professional development opportunities and
Demonstrate mastery of technical skillset including use of Excel and other software utilized by the Fund Team
Demonstrate mastery of subject matter when advising Senior Management or clients on questions or concerns
Demonstrated ability to handle more complicated employee relations issues pertaining to compensation, performance management, attrition, retention, etc
Ability to address more complicated client issues or concerns and escalate to the COO as necessary
Consistent resource for Senior Management with regard to technical questions or questions pertaining to team processes and procedures (i.e., “Best Practices”)
Provide daily leadership across operational teams and the overall organization

Required

15 + years' (relevant) experience in PE Accounting or related field
10 + years' supervisory experience in the following: performance management (including coaching, progressive discipline, performance review delivery etc.), training, talent acquisition and retention
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
Experience in forecasting and budgeting during an accelerated growth period
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multitask, time management, attention to detail, planning and problem-solving skills required
Ability to communicate and interact professionally and effectively through written and oral communication with current and potential clients
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle/manage multiple team and individual priorities and deadlines
Regularly required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job

Preferred

Advanced degree (MBA or MSA) in Accounting or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred
Knowledge of Investran or other partnership accounting software a plus
