Operations Floor Systems/Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME)

CACI International Inc is seeking an Operations Floor Systems/Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the USAF Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. This role involves providing 24/7 Tier 2 IT help desk support, troubleshooting complex systems and network issues, and mentoring operations personnel.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Operations section/shift lead, providing 24/7 Tier 2 enterprise IT help desk support
Troubleshoot escalated complex systems/network hardware, software, and services problems
Document processes and logic diagrams for regularly accomplished tasks on the NOSC operations floor and processes used by support technicians
Research and analyze network topology using NOSC automated toolsets and networking metrics to ascertain connectivity, topology, and status to recognize sub-standard network performance
Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents
Use the Firewall toolset to accurately analyze and report on the overall health of local and deployed firewalls
Perform enterprise-level firewall fault isolation and correction to include troubleshooting ACLs affecting other network traffic
Perform local installation, and local and remote administration of firewalls
Develop and maintain training plans for operations floor positions
Mentor and train operations personnel on new system installations and operating application upgrades
Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision makers
Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents

Required

B.S. degree in related field and 5 or more years' relevant IT experience OR 7 or more years' relevant IT experience
Unix/Linux, Firewall and HBSS experience
Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date
DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server 2012 using server images
Experience with implementation of storage solutions, window containers, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments
Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with managing Microsoft users and permissions, creating active directory domain services (AD DS) forests, designing server infrastructure, troubleshooting networks, and protecting network and user data
VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) certification
CCNA certification
ITIL Foundation certification within 60 days of start date
