NEOGOV is seeking a Vaccine Provider Coordinator to support the South Carolina Department of Public Health. The role involves managing vaccine ordering, distribution, and data collection, as well as providing technical assistance and education to vaccine providers.

Responsibilities

Performs activities according to federal and state policies, procedures, and laws related to vaccine ordering, distribution, and SIMON data collection
Collaborates with regional and central office staff to assure effective and efficient provision of services
Participates a member of the Vaccine Provider Operations Unit within the Division of Immunization and Prevention
Performs a range of Vaccine Management activities for participating federal and state vaccine program providers that include, but are not limited to
Review, process, and finalize submission of provider vaccine orders, inventory reports, vaccine wastage, returns, and transfers via federal and/or state agency software applications
Assist providers regarding the return or waste of non-viable vaccine and share best-practice prevention measures to eliminate wastage and minimize monetary loss
Exercise independent judgment to process and approve provider vaccine orders, including requesting overdue or missing information or adjusting requested amounts based on ordering trends
Review vaccine storage unit temperature monitoring reports submitted with vaccine orders to determine if storage and handling events have occurred within vaccine storage units; and, if so, determine the level and severity, escalating as needed to the Vaccine Manager
Coordinate vaccine orders, vaccine payment authorizations, and non-viable vaccine returns for the Fee for Service (FFS) vaccine program
Deliver ongoing technical assistance and education for vaccine providers on all aspects of vaccine program management based on current federal and state guidance
Performs vaccine management data collection functions via the statewide immunization registry (SIMON) to generate data reports that aid vaccine program quality assurance activities conducted by the Vaccine Manager, including assessing and monitoring vaccine order patterns, vaccine loss and wastage, and vaccine utilization among participating vaccine program providers
Serves as a lead resource regarding SIMON’s available reports and functionalities that support quality assurance activities
Triages, follows-up, and resolves reported Storage and Handling incidents among enrolled vaccine providers
Attends/participates in scheduled trainings, workshops, in-services, meetings and disseminates information as appropriate

Required

A high school diploma and relevant program experience
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience

The agency will require an official, certified copy of the transcript or diploma prior to hiring
A criminal records check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment
If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record

Preferred

Two (2) or more years of experience with software applications related to managing data for Immunization systems
Two (2) or more years of experience in public health/public administration related work within state/federal government
