Responsibilities
Build and execute the commercial strategy for monetizing the company’s proprietary financial and business data
Evaluate opportunities for new high value data assets or datasets that we should collect and productize
Identify, prospect, and secure new data-licensing partnerships with enterprise buyers
Develop data packaging strategies, including product tiers, delivery formats, and access models (e.g., API, bulk data, scheduled feeds)
Define pricing strategies based on market demand, competitive analysis, and customer value
Partner with internal technical teams to communicate customer requirements, data specifications, and delivery standards
Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients; own the full sales cycle from outreach to contract execution
Collaborate with Legal and Finance to structure deals, negotiate contract terms, and ensure compliance with data-usage guidelines
Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments to inform product and commercial strategy
Establish reporting and performance metrics to track revenue growth and operational efficiency
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, partnerships, or a related commercial role
Proven track record of new business acquisition and closing enterprise-level deals
Strong understanding of data delivery models (e.g., APIs, bulk files, structured datasets) and ability to convey customer needs to technical teams
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into actionable plans
Highly self-directed, comfortable operating independently in a new and growing business line
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical, product, legal, and finance stakeholders
Preferred
Experience in data licensing, data products, or financial information services strongly preferred
