Senior Linux Engineer
Recru is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux Engineer Lead to provide leadership and technical expertise in managing and optimizing enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance while maintaining high availability and performance across mission-critical Linux systems.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for Linux infrastructure administration, monitoring, and lifecycle management
Oversee daily operations of Linux servers across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
Ensure all Linux systems meet security, configuration, and compliance requirements as defined by CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, STIG, and internal IT governance frameworks
Partner with cybersecurity teams to align system configurations and vulnerability remediation practices
Design and implement scalable, secure Linux solutions supporting enterprise workloads
Coordinate Linux patch management, upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and capacity planning initiatives
Develop and maintain detailed Linux infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and automation scripts to support standardization and efficiency
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex Linux-related issues impacting mission-critical systems
Qualification
Required
Extensive hands-on experience with Linux (OEL/RHEL) systems administration and troubleshooting
Shell scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible)
Virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM)
Storage management (SAN/NAS concepts)
Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) is a plus
Leadership skills to mentor and develop a high-performing team
Ability to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance
Experience in maintaining high availability, scalability, and performance across mission-critical Linux systems
Ability to oversee daily operations of Linux servers across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
