Sr Engineer - Central Engineering, Central Gas Eng (FIELD ENG)
Con Edison is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to join their Central Gas Engineering team. This role is crucial for supporting gas engineering initiatives and ensuring operational excellence through technical expertise and quality commitment.

Responsibilities
Perform System Condition Assessments to identify and document system or component deficiencies, review equipment operation, and generate and drive corrective actions
Review and maintain System Descriptions, P&IDs and other design basis documentation
Perform root cause analysis of component failures and forced outage
Provide engineering support to the Astoria LNG Plant and the Hunts Point Compressor Station
Participate in project planning, outages and construction processes
Generate or review acceptance test plans and oversee or observe testing/commissioning
Interface with and track activities of equipment and service providers, both inside and outside the Company
Generate detailed reports and presentations to inform and guide Central Engineering capital planning and all levels of management
Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of engineering work experience in the gas or power generation industries, or
Master's Degree with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of engineering work experience in the gas or power generation industries
Thorough knowledge of gas or power generation equipment and systems, required
Knowledge of utility industry safety standards and process safety measures, required
Ability to obtain an in-depth knowledge of Company industry codes, standards, procedures, and specifications related to LNG plant design and compressor station systems, required
Ability to deliver exemplary customer service, required
Must possess strong technical competence, be well organized, and detail oriented, required
Must be flexible to handle multiple assignments with changing priorities and meet deadlines, required
Must have a high regard for personal accountability, and understand the critical importance of Commitment to Engineering Excellence, required
Strong leadership skills with the ability to positively motivate others, required
Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, internal/external customers, agencies, and various levels of management, required
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), required
Driver's License Required
Ability to respond to system emergencies
Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
