Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and load trading and market data from multiple source systems
Configure and integrate trade surveillance platforms to ensure seamless data flow and optimal performance of surveillance models and custom controls
Apply knowledge of financial instruments across equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives to ensure accurate data mapping and transformation
Implement data quality frameworks to validate and monitor trading data, preventing false positives in surveillance alerts
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance pipelines and system performance, introducing automation and advanced analytics where possible
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues, including root cause analysis and production support
Partner with compliance, trading, risk, and technology teams to continuously improve surveillance effectiveness
Create and maintain documentation on data mapping, data lineage, and ETL processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field
3+ years of relevant work experience
Proven experience in data engineering or ETL development, preferably within financial services or capital markets
Strong understanding of financial instruments, market data concepts, and trading practices
Hands-on expertise in ETL design, implementation, and optimization for large-scale datasets
Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or C#
Knowledge of financial regulations related to market abuse and regulatory reporting requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex data and production issues
Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
Familiarity with trade surveillance systems such as TradingHub, Actimize, or SMARTS is a strong advantage
