Responsibilities
Independently develop detailed electrical designs for high-voltage substations (46 kV and higher)
Prepare complete design packages, including:
Panel wiring diagrams
Breaker and transformer connection drawings
Panel fabrication drawings
Wiring and cable lists
Bill of materials
Metering and SCADA drawings
Apply standard engineering techniques, guidelines, and procedures to ensure sound design practices
Interpret single-line, three-line, and elementary wiring diagrams
Ensure compliance with utility standards and project requirements
Qualification
Required
Experience: 3–4 years with an electric power utility in Substation Protection & Control Design
Education: Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent utility experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design
Extensive knowledge of Protection & Control applications
Familiarity with major drawings and panel wiring diagrams
General knowledge of protective relaying and relaying applications
Ability to interpret one-line, AC/DC elementary diagrams, and wiring schematics
Preferred
Experience in relay setting applications and/or relay testing (preferred but not required)
