Radio Production Assistant

NEOGOV is seeking a Radio Production Assistant to support the administration of communications programs for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The role involves assisting in the production of public service announcements, managing audio equipment, and supervising volunteers at the radio station.

Responsibilities

Maintain, setup, breakdown audio equipment utilized for community events
Assist management with the production of public service announcements; selects sounds, voices and music for announcement enhancement
Assist on air by disc-jockeys; with announcement spots ensuring proper dates are used and expired dates removed
Assist management with the production of automatic play programming; recording songs, announcements and checking timing of the automatic play programs meet established guidelines
Assist in supervising disc-jockeys and volunteers; ensures proper training on use of equipment
Respond to general inquiries by telephone or in person; act as a representative of the department
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director

Required

High School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years of related experience: or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License
This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends
Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination
Knowledge of production equipment
Knowledge of radio programming
Knowledge of sound effects and timing
Knowledge of customer service
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local rules and regulations
Knowledge of Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn
Skills to use production equipment
Skills to use proper English, grammar, punctuation and spelling
Skills to create a variety of materials to be used on air
Skills to compile data and information
Skills to operate a variety of office equipment, including a computer and related software applications
Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, management, Council members, and the public
