Human Resources Manager

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the legacy of President Reagan. They are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide administrative support, manage employee relations, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Education

Responsibilities

Write job descriptions, keep them updated for required legal wording, manage internal and external job postings, interview candidates when requested
Work with all new candidates to complete application, and then guide them through background screening, notifying supervisors when completed
Write all letters of employment to new employees, customizing each one for the various departments and jobs, including a non-disclosure agreement, personalized arbitration agreement, Employee Handbook, and benefits sheet
Complete all onboarding documents with professional employer partner/organization, then work with Finance team to complete documents and timekeeping process for each employee
Create and maintain “hard copy” personnel folder, including records of participation in benefits plans such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as annual goals, promotions, salary increases, performance reviews, and terminations
Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, including layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence
Support company-wide information meetings or trainings such as harassment in the workplace and annual review of retirement or benefit plans
Work with all supervisors on issues relating to job posting, interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment training
Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
Work with all stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered
Administer all termination proceedings, including interviews/meetings, paperwork, final wages, acknowledgement forms, receipt of keys/fobs
Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Serve as liaison between EDD and Insperity to ensure employee documents are forwarded and questions are answered regarding reason for termination
Confirm employment for outside organizations and sign letters of authorization for employee home loans
Maintain current Employee Handbook online, work with CFO, Controller and H.R. specialist from professional employer partner organization to make changes, then issue new Handbook to all employees
Work with CFO and Controller to answer employee questions on benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
Investigate accidents and prepare paperwork for Insperity and insurance carrier
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5 years of relevant Human Resources experience

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication abilities, including good listening and comprehension skills

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Performs effectively and professionally under pressure
Exhibits exceptional organizational and time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize
A proactive approach and 'no task is too big or too small' mentality
Ability to work Foundation events including, but not limited, to the annual Reagan National Defense Forum at the end of November/first weekend in December and Reagan National Economic Forum in the late Spring

Preferred

PHR/SHRM-CP not required, but it would be a plus
