Responsibilities
Guide the modernization of mainframe database architectures, leveraging deep IMS/DB2 expertise alongside emerging cloud and AI technologies
Optimize and maintain IMS/DB2 environments focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability
Design migration strategies for mainframe databases to cloud platforms and evaluate hybrid cloud-mainframe architectures
Support AI integration in database monitoring, error interpretation, and knowledge transfer initiatives
Qualification
Required
7-9 years of database/data management experience
5+ years of IMS/DB2 database administration and performance tuning experience
Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and z/OS environments
Proficiency in database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Knowledge of SQL optimization and database design principles
Bachelor's degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent experience plus 6 years of database engineering experience
Preferred
Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.)
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools
Experience with database migration tools and methodologies
Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns and best practices
Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
