The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a prominent client of ours. The main responsibility is to function as mechanical design support on project work to improve existing fiber optic cable manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

Design tooling and/or mechanical assemblies utilizing Inventor or AutoCAD
Obtain quotes and order components
Revise equipment drawings
Develop experimental plans to validate designs
Assemble or oversee assembly of systems with opportunity for hands on work
Debug and resolve issues when integrating designs into production equipment
Work closely with a cross functional engineering team including IT, process and electrical engineers/technicians
Work with operations to update documentation and support training as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related required
3+ years of mechanical system design (pneumatic controls, flow control, water cooling, etc) experience required
Must have mechanical system design and integration experience
AutoCAD and Inventor are preferred but any CAD is required

Preferred

Motion control, PLC and temperature control systems experience is a plus!
Plastic extrusion experience is a plus!
