Responsibilities

Monitor field performance of products and identify opportunities for improvements
Execute field investigation
Data analysis to identify trends and support prioritization of investigations
Perform vehicle and component level debug and failure analysis
Identify root-cause of problems using 1st principles and 5why methodology
Coordinate and dispatch field failure investigations
Drive containment and corrective action implementation
Communicate field performance of the engineering system, gather buy-in from engineering peers and leadership on improvement priorities and urgency
Contribute to ongoing efforts for continuous improvement at Tesla, actively driving activities towards enhancing vehicle reliability, contributing to the continual optimization of Tesla's products and processes

Required

0-5+ years of hands-on experience in failure analysis, reliability, systems architecture, or related electro-mechanical systems, with a demonstrated problem-solving ability
For out of school candidates, Co-ops, or participation in student competitions such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE; Solar vehicle. Strong project that demonstrates problem solving skills, also accepted
A background in electronics or automotive (with an electrical engineering focus) is preferred, or an equivalent qualification
Hands-on experience in debugging and testing electrical systems in the automotive or a comparable industry, including wire harnesses, components, ECUs, and/or embedded systems
Broad technical background, with previous experience in problem solving and failure analysis on multiple. Proficient in PCBA level troubleshooting and debugging
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
Programming Languages & Tools: Python, UNIX and demonstrated success in applying statistical methods in data analysis
Degree in electrical, mechatronic, or similar fields/equivalent experience required

Preferred

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
