Gexpro Services is a leading Supply Chain Services outsource provider, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support their production planning and manufacturing operations. The role involves leveraging MRP/ERP systems to manage work orders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resource use and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed production plans to meet customer demand and delivery schedules

Utilize MRP/ERP systems to create and manage work orders, travelers, schedules, and material part numbers for all manufacturing processes

Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints in both standard and metric measurements

Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activities across multiple departments

Collaborate with engineering staff on technical specifications, manufacturing requirements and test procedures as necessary

Work closely with production, engineering, logistics, and sales teams to ensure work instructions are accurate, clear and actionable

Partner with department managers and leads to ensure appropriate staffing coverage, monitor lead times and proactively address production constraints

Coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials

Establish production priorities based on customer delivery requirements and first part qualification (FPQ) needs

Ensure compliance with all safety standards, quality requirements and company policies throughout the production process

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred with a focus in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, and folding

Ability to read and understand blueprints in standard and metric formats

Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions related to production scheduling, inventory, and resource allocation

Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and workflow constraints

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Excellent communication, organizational and cross functional collaboration skills

Working knowledge of warehouse safety regulations

Proficient computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs

Fluent in both written and spoken English

Advanced Math and Analytical Skills

Ability to meet physical job requirements, including the ability to lift 50 pounds, work in variable temperature conditions, and stand for extended periods of time
